Hungry Puppy's Cosmic Road Trip

Life gave me an intergalactic pink slip Said "Pack up your planets Kid" So I’m stuffing all my maybe’s In a glove box full of what-ifs Dashboard crumbs Coffee stains on the star map Backseat full of my dog friends Who never learned to kick back Cosmic road trip I’m off this orbit Miles from the nest I made Time to take off from the time it takes To make life better than it’s already It’s good It’s sweeter than honey I’d share I swear But poison hits different in every body Windows down on a meteor highway Static from the sun in my teeth Turn my Sideview mirrors to the sky Let the black just breathe You say "Stay till it gets easier" But easy feels like rust So I trade my boring blessings For a little stardust Some sip joy like medicine Some sip hurt like wine I can’t dose your demons for you Can’t calibrate your sky So I’ll wave when I pass your planet Leave you with your gravity I’m light-years late to my own party But it’s finally just for me
