Lyrics
[Intro] Uh Uh [Verse 1] From early in my life I learned how to stay silent So I wouldn’t get confronted with the conflict, with the violence I didn’t know better, better, I was just a child, but When I grew older, silence still sounded better than defiance Kept my head down Kept my mouth shut Swallowed every fucking word Till my tongue got cut When I turned seventeen I was fed up with the shit that was around me Same four walls, same dead eyes Same fuckers keeping me down So I learned how to shout But I never learned to speak Learned to swing when I was angry Learned to hide when I was weak Every “fuck you” was a flare gun Every slammed door was a sign I was screaming at the whole world When the problem was still mine Uh You can leave the room You can leave the town You can burn every bridge Till there’s nothing around But that kid stays quiet Somewhere under your skin And every time you bite your tongue You fucking let him back in [chorus] I bite my tongue cause im bout to say some vile shit help all the people get free or just look at them die tryin I bite my tongue cause everything around me is violence and i can´t take it no more i´m bout to break my silence I bite my tongue uh uh yeah i bite it but not for long [verse] Uh, uh I’m talking rough nights, straight desperation Rent went up, food went up, fuel at the station Racism dressed up as “preservation” Billionaire fucks buying legislation Politicians say, “It’s the immigrants” Nah, motherfucker, it’s the ignorance You got no love for the family next door But you’ll lick the fucking boot of the man taking more They teach boys “don’t cry,” just swallow the pain Then wonder why they grow up angry and ashamed Call a gay kid weak just to prove that you’re tough If your manhood needs a victim, it ain’t manhood enough Black, brown, queer, whatever they fear They give you somebody beneath you to keep you right here While the rich get richer and the cameras look away Private jets, private islands, private games they play Epstein island, names buried under legal files Politicians shaking hands and practicing their smiles Left wing, right wing, same fucking chandelier We’re fighting one another while the money disappears They tell you your neighbour is stealing your share While the fucker at the top owns the building and the stairs So fuck your scapegoats, fuck your culture war I know who gets richer every time we get poor [record scratches: fuck the ignorance] [chorus] I bite my tongue cause im bout to say some vile shit help all the people get free or just look at them die tryin I bite my tongue cause everything around me is violence and i can´t take it no more i´m bout to break my silence I bite my tongue uh uh yeah i bite it but not for long
