
Took the exit I swore I'd never need again Past chain link and concrete, empty lot Took its time, but finally died. Lost for a while, it slowly came back Unearthed what I'd buried on the way out Was it always this empty? Are these the same cars? Open the front door, already dreading what I'll see Too much stuff, piled on every surface Shoved into every corner. Clean for once, shouldn't bother me At least it doesn't stink Same old couches, same stained carpet That old chair, that vibrant color Smaller than I remember. And empty.
