Song story
This literally only came to be when Insider, on discord, was just talking about their day and how they work in the city. The first line in the first verse, right up to "blows my mind", is literally what they said. I saw it and thought it sounded good and added the second line starting with "I sleep in the city". This went on in discord in response to each other. The second verse was 100% written by Insider, with the last line as an addition by me. Chorus and the last two verses was written by me.

Subtitles ready[Verse 1] I work in the city I don't know what these people smoke It puts them in a state of sedation so deep that it blows my mind I sleep in the city With one eye open hoping not to choke, I know despite all it is only time till my body is enshrined. [Pre-chorus] (Obey the beat of the city) (Sin longer in the city of fools) [Chorus] The city makes fools of us all Driving us into the ground like dust under foot The city brings out our secret flaw Begging to expose us to its seedy output [Verse 2] I feel like I'm out of time, watch my day blend to night, I complain then I write about the things that I like - my Life is like a stain on some white, any way that I try To clean up my act, and force myself to claim I'm alright (It don't work.) (It don't work) (It don't work) (It don't work) (It don't work) Guess it's a waste of my time, spend my days all online. It's a problem, wanna solve it but I ain't gonna lie, I crack my jokes and try to take it in stride, and Know what I have to do, but I'm afraid of my mind Stuck in the city like an idiot subcommittee [Pre-chorus] (Obey the beat of the city) (Sin longer in the city of fools) [Chorus] The city makes fools of us all Driving us into the ground like dust under foot The city brings out our secret flaw Begging to expose us to its seedy output [Outro] I'm stuck in the city It breaks my brain with the loud beat knocking around in my cracked bleeding skull incessant with no pity I'm fucked in the city Won't even take me out for a treat before taking its pleasure from my soul draining my pugnacity (Obey the beat of the city) (Sin longer in the city of fools) (Obey the beat of the city) (Sin longer in the city of fools) (Stuck in the city like an idiot subcommittee) [End]
