𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 Everybody’s got a list… Everybody’s got a type… Everybody’s got expectations… Funny thing is… Very few become… What they’re asking for. Everybody wants the crown, Nobody wants the grind. Everybody wants forever, ’Til forever costs some time. Everybody wants the summit, Few will make the climb. Everybody wants a diamond, Nobody digs the mine. Raise your standards—I agree. Aim as high as you can see. Just don’t hand that list to me, If your mirror don’t agree. Everybody wants the harvest, Nobody plants the seed. Funny how we’re quick to judge, Slow to ask, “What do I bring?” Want strength? (Good) Want purpose? (Good) Want someone steady when life gets rough? (Good) Want loyalty? Want peace? Want somebody who won’t retreat? Good… So do I. High expectations, They don’t bother me. Double expectations, That’s the enemy. I’m building the man I promised I’d become. Whether I walk beside someone, Or I walk alone. Standards never scared me. Hypocrisy still does. Different roles. Equal weight. That’s the kind of love I’m dreaming of. You want a man who keeps his word, Shows up when the whole world’s burned. Strong enough to bear the load, Wise enough to guard his home. Good. He should. You want a man with discipline, Purpose running through his skin. Leads with courage, stands up tall, Keeps his family over all. Good. So do I. But here’s the question nobody asks… [Pause] What does he get to expect from YOU? [Pause] Attraction gets the interview. Character gets the job. Respect signs the contract. Peace keeps the doors unlocked. Beauty caught my attention. Personality earned my trust. Looks might stop my footsteps… But Mindset earns my love. Keep your standards, I respect ‘em. Mine ain’t scared to reach. I don’t fear a woman climbing, I admire what it means. But don’t hand me a measuring stick You never use upon yourself. The ruler that you hold on me Better not sit on your shelf. I don’t need perfection. Never said I did. Just somebody showing up When life gets hard to live. Different gifts. Different lanes. Different burdens. Same aim. Carry yours. I’ll carry mine. That’s how kingdoms stand through time. Leadership ain’t bragging rights. It’s sacrifice unseen. The first to face the storm outside, The last to eat, the last to sleep. Strong shoulders still appreciate Another set of hands. I don’t need you to carry me, Just help me build what stands. My standards… Were written… Before you came along. I didn’t build this life… To earn applause. I built it… Because that’s the man… I chose to become. If someone walks beside me… Welcome. If nobody does… I still keep walking. High expectations, Keep every single one. Just become the kind of soul Who deserves the love they want. I’m building the man I came here to be. Not because somebody asked… Because that’s my legacy. Standards never scared me. Double standards did. Different roles, Equal weight. Now let’s build, Something worth leaving. Don’t lower your standards. Rise to meet them. That’s where love begins.
