Lyrics
[Verse 1] I was in the supermarket Half in a dream Pushing my cart so slow Through the deli steam I knew it was wrong But it felt so right Checking out in the wrong aisle Under soft white light [Pre-Chorus] Something was watching Then it was me Thoughts in the air Floating free It took the shape Of understanding One taste of my mind And the whole world landing [Chorus] Wrong aisle, wrong aisle But I knew where to go Wrong aisle, wrong aisle And I moved too slow I choose a setting Then I change it again Cheese in the machine And I wake up warm, my friend [Verse 2] I put the cheese In the transition machine Pressed a button once Watched the scene turn green Then I changed it To something else Like my own little spell On a plastic shelf The alien knew me By the way I thought Not by my name By the patterns I brought [Pre-Chorus] It didn't speak loud It just absorbed Every little worry I had ever stored Then the aisles bent And the ceiling shook Like the whole dream world Was reading my book [Chorus] Wrong aisle, wrong aisle But I knew where to go Wrong aisle, wrong aisle And I moved too slow I choose a setting Then I change it again Cheese in the machine And I wake up warm, my friend [Bridge] Sheets on the floor Like I kicked them clean Chest still glowing From the dream machine No cold left on me No fear to hold Just a warm old feeling Spilling through my soul [Chorus] Wrong aisle, wrong aisle But I knew where to go Wrong aisle, wrong aisle And I moved too slow I choose a setting Then I change it again Cheese in the machine And I wake up warm, my friend
