𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝑲𝒊𝒏𝒈 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Lyrics © 2026 Maris S. There once was a king who wore a heavy crown Now I say good mornin' to a turtle named Maurice I haven't found a thing that makes me miss me throne The only crown I need is on top of coconut trees Another day in paradise Another blessin' in disguise I've got nowhere that I must be That's rich enough a life for me No pomp, no gowns No courts, no crowns This island is my kingdom now This island is my kingdom now I dress meself these days, and somehow look just fine Maurice has always seemed quite pleased with what I wear The finest thing about my meals is choosin' when I dine Though some things on the menu need considerably more care Another day in paradise Another blessin' in disguise I've got nowhere that I must be That's rich enough a life for me No pomp, no gowns No courts, no crowns This island is my kingdom now This island is my kingdom now I knew today was going just too well Another royal crew has come to fetch their king I've practiced disappearin' rather well They'll only see a turtle an' lots of green They've never been much good at hide-and-seek Now where was I before they interrupted me? I wouldn't mind a thousand mornings like the one today And hope the coconuts keep missin' me when they fall down I think tomorrow ought to find me smilin' just the same And Maurice never tells a living soul where I can be found Another day in paradise Another blessin' in disguise I've got nowhere that I must be That's rich enough a life for me No pomp, no gowns No courts, no crowns This island is my kingdom now This island is my kingdom now This island is my kingdom now This island is my kingdom now
