Revolution Comedy

[INTRO — THE PEOPLE] [Soft piano, distant footsteps, a crowd slowly gathering] We built your cities, paved your roads, We bore your burdens, shared your loads. You promised dawn, we lived through night, So now we rise to claim what's right. [Drums enter, guitars gradually building] No more hunger! No more chains! No more blood to feed your gains! WE ARE HERE! WE ARE ONE! OUR REVOLUTION HAS BEGUN! [VERSE 1 — THE UPRISING] We stood together in the rain, With empty hands and hearts aflame. No crowns to claim, no thrones to take, Just a world we swore we'd remake. We buried friends beneath the ground, We heard their names in every sound. And when the final walls came down, We thought we'd finally won. [CHORUS — TRIUMPHANT ROCK] WE WILL NOT BOW! WE WILL NOT BREAK! WE'LL BUILD A WORLD THEY CANNOT TAKE! LET EVERY VOICE AND FIST BE RAISED! LET EVERY LOST AND BROKEN SOUL BE SAVED! THE OLD WORLD FALLS! THE NEW WORLD RISES! TONIGHT, THE PEOPLE CLAIM THEIR LIVES! [VERSE 2 — THE MORNING AFTER] [Music becomes restrained. A single piano joins clean guitars.] The flags still wave above the square, The victory songs still fill the air. The leaders speak of brighter days, While hungry children watch and wait. The factories run, the workers bleed, The powerful decide what people need. New faces sit upon the throne, But somehow we still feel alone. [PRE-CHORUS — Uneasy Strings] We changed the names. We changed the signs. We drew new borders, redrew lines. We swore the past would never return— SO WHY DOES EVERYTHING STILL BURN? [CHORUS — DARKER, HEAVIER] WE BROKE THE CHAINS! WE TORE THEM DOWN! SO WHY'S THERE ANOTHER ON OUR GROUND? WE GAVE OUR BLOOD! WE GAVE OUR YEARS! WAS THIS THE FUTURE BOUGHT WITH TEARS? THE OLD WORLD FALLS! THE NEW WORLD RISES! BUT WHO DECIDES WHOSE FREEDOM SURVIVES? [BRIDGE — THE PEOPLE] [Distorted guitars, desperate vocals, overlapping crowd chants] I FOUGHT FOR YOU! YOU FOUGHT FOR ME! WE DREAMED OF WHAT THE WORLD COULD BE! WE DIDN'T MARCH TO CHANGE THE NAMES! WE DIDN'T DIE TO FEED THE FLAMES! [Music collapses into a lone voice.] We wanted bread. We wanted peace. We wanted no one on their knees. Was that too much? Was that the crime? To ask for something more than time? [FINAL CHORUS — ORCHESTRAL ROCK EXPLOSION] WE WILL NOT BOW! WE WILL NOT BREAK! [Choir enters] BUT HOW MANY MORE MUST WE SACRIFICE? HOW MANY DAWNS MUST TURN TO NIGHT? HOW MANY TIMES MUST WE REBUILD THE WORLD WE DREAMED WOULD NEVER KILL? THE OLD WORLD FALLS! THE NEW WORLD RISES! AND STILL THE PEOPLE PAY THE PRICE! [OUTRO — AFTER THE REVOLUTION] [All instruments fade. Distant wind. Footsteps across an empty square.] [Quiet voice] We won. We really won. So why... Why are we still hungry? [Long silence.] [Distant crowd, softly] We want bread... We want peace... We want justice... [The original opening melody returns, unfinished.] [END]
