Everybody keeps on chasing brighter skies, while I'm learning how to disappear. The colors faded long before you said goodbye, and somehow everything feels honest here. Nothing screams... Nothing shines... Nothing asks me who I've been. In a world that's painted over every little crack, I'd rather stay somewhere in between. Leave me in the gray... Where nothing has a name... Where every shade... Feels the same... --- --- Maybe color never saved me... Maybe silence knows my name... If the world keeps turning brighter... I'll remain inside the gray... --- I've stopped looking for a sunrise in the distance, because the darkness never lied. Every perfect little picture starts to lose its shape, when you look at it long enough with open eyes. Gray doesn't promise forever. Gray doesn't promise change. It simply lets me exist without pretending I'm okay. Leave me in the gray... No light to chase... No colors left... To wash away... --- --- If every color fades eventually... Then maybe gray was always home.
