I used to have a schedule, I swear I did Sunrise ambitions, color-coded grids Now I just stare at the sky, "what is time?" Crumbs in my pocket, caffeine in my spine Was I built for dawn Or the neon glow? Why's my soul buffering At 2 PM though I'm not a night owl I'm not a morning dove I'm a tired pigeon Just doing enough Flappin' through the static Of a half-charged brain Signed, still alive But... barely maintained We, the underslept, supported by a distant, judgmental llama... in order to form a slightly functional morning, declare snacks, naps, and emotional support beverages to be recognized as unflappable rights I filed complaints with the clouds above got no response, just a lack of love so now I perch and loudly decree, lower your expectations of me Got no grand purpose No elegant flight Just vibes and survival And crumbs from last night I'm not a night owl I'm not a morning dove I'm a tired pigeon Just doing enough Flappin' through the static Of a half-charged brain Signed, still alive But... barely sustained May not be my best day Still flappin’ anyway
