I've wanted to do a song with a bunch of film editor jargon for a while, and thought the whole "obsession" and "tunnel vision" angle would work well, since that's usually how your mind gets when you're grinding away on an Avid timeline on a time limit. So yeah, lots of little references and puns here, (and my favorite one is pretty niche, I'll be impressed if you catch it!) ------------ LYRICS ------------ The same old sequence going round and round, Perfection in the first scene is consuming you, Replay the video a million times to find the right sound, So focused on scene one, you never get to scene two Your eyes are like a camera, And nothing else exists, Just a focus on what's in front of you, Who cares what you might have missed, A piece of tape is missing from the VHS, Which you ignore the rest of the film to find, A little blip in your head, Is taking over your mind, Yeah, shut up, Stop, Rewind.
