Just a Little Bit Alone

Inspired by the words: “We're all looking for a connection. We're all just a little bit alone.” Original quote spoken by Jack Crusher Star Trek: Picard Performed, written and produced by: Cybergal © 2026 Cybergal All Rights Reserved. We leave our lights on in the middle of the night Waiting for somebody to notice we're awake Typing out the words we never say out loud Then deleting every one before we hit send We know a thousand names but hardly know a soul We smile for all the pictures, hide the things we don't show Everybody's reaching out for somebody to hold But we're all a little frightened of letting someone close We're all searching for somebody We're all trying to belong Looking for a place that feels like home Wondering where we went wrong We're all looking for a connection We're all just a little bit alone Some find love in another person's arms Some find somewhere else to call their home Some find a bottle, some find a needle Some find a stranger who makes them feel known Some find a reason just to keep believing Anything that makes them feel less alone There's the friend who never tells you That they're barely getting through There's the one who fills the silence With anything they have to do There's the person chasing moments That they know won't ever last And the one who keeps returning To a memory of the past We're all carrying something That nobody else can see And sometimes what we're holding Is the only thing we need We're all searching for somebody We're all trying to belong Looking for a place that feels like home Wondering where we went wrong We're all looking for a connection We're all just a little bit alone Some find love in another person's arms Some find somewhere else to call their home Some find a bottle, some find a needle Some find a stranger who makes them feel known Some find a reason just to keep believing Anything that makes them feel less alone Maybe we're not asking for too much Maybe we're just asking the wrong place Maybe what we call our weakness Is simply something trying to find its way We don't need somebody to save us We don't need somebody to make us whole Maybe we just need somebody Who reminds us we're not alone We're all looking for a connection We're all just a little bit alone Somewhere underneath all this noise We're all trying to find our way home We're all reaching for somebody Someone who can see us as we are Maybe we're not as far apart As we think we are While we've been fixing ourselves Maybe we're not the thing broken Maybe we've been searching for a home In places that were never meant to hold us Maybe we're not the thing broken... Maybe we just haven't found The connection we were looking for.
