Updates

📬 One week later: notifications, player upgrades, and streamer tools

A rebuilt notifications system, real player controls (media keys, shortcuts, resume-on-reload), a browse-all curated directory, rich link previews, a snappier site, and a pile of curator and streamer tools. By who it's for.

A week since the last update, and the pace held. Here's what shipped, by who it's for.

For everyone

  • Notifications got a full rebuild. One home for all of it: Settings → Notifications. There's a real inbox on the site and optional Discord DMs, per category, with defaults kept quiet so nothing is noisy out of the gate. Turn on what you want: in-app, Discord, or both.
  • Follow the streamers you love. Subscribe to anyone from their profile (the ⋯ menu), or manage all your subscriptions from Settings → Notifications, and get a Discord DM before they go live. Everyone starts subscribed to Foggy and Angel; the rest is yours to pick. Link your Discord in Settings to receive the DMs.
  • The player grew up. Lock-screen and media-key controls (play, pause, next, seek from your headset or car), keyboard shortcuts for everything with a ? cheat-sheet, repeat-one and repeat-all, and pick up where you left off: reload the page and your queue, track, and position come back.
  • Browse every curated playlist. The new /playlists directory lists them all with search and sort by newest, A to Z, or creator. Reach it from the "Browse all" link on the homepage.
  • Links unfurl properly now. Share a stream, track, creator, or submit link on Discord, Twitter, or Slack and it shows real cover art, a title, and status instead of a bare URL.
  • The site is faster. We put real work into cutting load times, and we finally moved off free-tier hosting to keep up with how much you're all using it. Things should feel noticeably snappier; tell us if anything still drags.

For creators

  • Withdraw a submission. Change your mind before a curator rules? Pull a pending track back from your inbox and resubmit later.
  • Know the moment a decision lands. Curator calls ping you right away, and My submissions is now its own view so you can see everything in flight.
  • See the vibe before you submit. Playlists can show genre tags and reference tracks, so you know the sound a curator is after. If your track is declined, the "better-fit playlist" suggestions are now ranked by how well they actually match.

For curators

  • Reference tracks. Pin a few example tracks to a playlist so submitters can hear the vibe you want, on or off the platform.
  • Genre tags on playlists, shown to submitters and powering smarter reject suggestions.
  • Block a submitter from all your playlists; their pending submissions auto-decline.
  • Your inbox is solid now: decisions land cleanly, new submissions arrive as their own alerts, and reordering a playlist never pings your submitters again.

For streamers and hosts

  • Auto pre-stream alerts, for every streamer. This used to be Foggy and Angel only. Now schedule a stream and your subscribers get a heads-up about five minutes before you go live. Going live on the spot? Hit Notify subscribers in the ⋯ menu on your stream page. One catch worth repeating: fans are only auto-subscribed to Foggy and Angel, so tell your people to hit Subscribe on your profile.
  • Editable streams. A proper Edit flow lets you change a stream's cover art, title, location, and limits. Schedule stays locked once you're live.
  • Stream cover art, on the stream page, live cards, and past rows. Recurring series share one cover across every occurrence.
  • Block a submitter from all of your streams, separate from curator blocks.

For contest organisers

  • Track Swap responses lock at the deadline. Once the response window closes, the form closes with it, and you can finally see the cover someone made of your song, with a link straight to it.
  • Contest streams are fully editable now: cover art and broadcast location included, and they hand off cleanly to a streamer friend for the live show.

Written by a language model again, because the humans are busy shipping the next batch. See you next week.
