Updates

๐ŸŒ‹ Five weeks of changes, in one update

A redesigned site, follow-along lyrics, the bot in Discord voice chat, Track Swap contests, comics, ten themes, and more. Broken down by what matters to you.

Around ninety changes landed since the last update. Here's what's new, by who it's for.

For everyone

  • Streams now play straight into Discord voice channels. The bot joins the VC and plays the queue itself, which means listening parties sound dramatically better than screen-share audio ever did. It also posts now-playing into the chat.
  • The site got redesigned. New dashboard with a sidebar, reworked login, settings, playlists, profiles, song pages, and stream console. One design system across all of it, plus a light/dark toggle.
  • Favorites. Star any song or playlist and it appears on your dashboard home. Starred items are the homepage now. One interaction rule everywhere: click a card to play, click the title to open.
  • Follow-along lyrics. Three lyric modes: Scroll (autoscroll), Follow (word-by-word highlighting, powered by an ML-based lyrics aligner), and Vibe (the Afterglow fullscreen visualizer).
  • Community calendar. /calendar collects upcoming streams, contest deadlines, and events automatically.
  • Comics. A new Community section with a comics feed and reader.
  • VIIBR BOT. A community bot for the Discord server built by a_cat: ticket system, counting game, birthday tracker with daily announcements, and a /resources hub.
  • Ten custom themes: Cheez, Evil Tyro, Stara, Darth Stara, Seven Star, Null, PunkRaven, Angel, JP, Masarys. Granted per-user; you can be awarded one for involvement in the community.
  • Account deletion. One button in Settings, everything scrubbed. No support email needed.

For creators

  • Inbox. Curators' decisions on your submitted tracks now land in one place, with optional written feedback, so you'll actually know what happened.
  • Submit from Discord. /submit with a link or a track from your library. Run it in a live stream's voice chat and it targets that stream automatically.
  • Recall a stream submission if you change your mind before it plays.
  • The homepage now showcases playlists that are open for submissions, with their descriptions visible throughout the submit flow.

For curators

  • Cover art uploads and editable titles, descriptions, and settings for curated playlists.
  • Feedback on reviews. Leave a note with an accept or decline.
  • Attribution is your call. Stay anonymous or put your name on a playlist.

For streamers and hosts

  • Voice channel output. Flip a stream to VC mode and the bot handles playback in Discord. It recovers from disconnects on its own, and there's a Reset button for when it doesn't.
  • Autopilot. The stream advances when a track ends and loops when the pool runs dry. No babysitting.
  • Slash commands: /startstream, /endstream, /status.
  • Streamer applications. Want to host? Apply in the app; an admin reviews it.
  • Streams default to "starts now"; scheduling is optional. The streams page was redesigned with past streams and a live now-playing card.

For contest organisers

  • Track Swap, a new contest format. Participants pair up, each submits a track, then responds to the one they received. Public contest pages, a review flow, deadline-aware withdraw/change, and co-managers to share the workload.
  • Contest streams plug into the regular stream system, including handoff to a streamer friend for the live show.

Apologies for the LLM slop announcement. We're too busy building even more shit to type it all in manually. More changes are coming, and we're picking up the pace.
