Lyrics
[Intro] Started with a spark, not a strike... had to earn the thunder [Verse 1 — Static] Grew up where the current barely made it past the block Every outlet cut, every dream boarded up and locked Learned to spark small 'cause small was all I had Watched the older mages settle into "this is just how it's bad" That defeatist static, man, it spreads just like a current Everybody grounded, told you dreaming was a burden But I kept a charge in my chest they couldn't kill Told myself one day I'm commanding something real [Hook — Static] I'm just static now, but static doesn't stay A spark remembers it was born to find a way I'm just static now, flickering but true One day this current's gonna break into something new [Verse 2 — Rising] Every setback tried to ground me, short me, shut me down Every voice around me said don't leave here, don't leave town But I studied every current, every high voltage line Turned my scars to circuits, turned my doubt into design Wasn't given lightning, had to chase it storm to storm Learned the sky don't hand you thunder, you gotta be reborn Every night I practiced when the block was fast asleep Static's just a promise that a storm's about to keep [Bridge — Transformation] Felt the pressure building, felt the sky start to bend Static was the seed, but it was never meant to end Clouds don't ask permission when they finally let go I stopped asking too [Verse 3 — Storm] Now the thunder's mine, I don't flicker, I command Every rumble in the distance got my fingerprint and hand Left that grounded mentality back where it began I'm the storm they said could never come out of that land Still got love for static, still remember where I'm from But I ain't shrinking down to make the old ways comfortable for none Every bolt I throw is proof a spark can find the sky Every kid still static, watch me, that's the reason why [Hook — Storm] I'm the storm now, I ain't holding back Thunder's got a memory, and it remembers every crack I'm the storm now, born from what they said I'd never be Static was the question, this the answer, this is me [Outro] Not lightning that was given... lightning that was earned
