Lyrics
[Opening] To you, I may sound insane. To me, you are all sane. You measure the world with careful hands, counting what can be named, keeping faith inside familiar walls. But love has never asked permission before it opened a door. [Reflection] There is a kind of madness that is not sickness, but release— the courage to loosen the grip of every rule that teaches us we must live small. The world may call you foolish when you forgive the unforgivable, when you give without applause, when you choose mercy where anger would be easier. But I say: let the lover be free. Let the heart become absent-minded to the arithmetic of fear. Let it forget the price of kindness. Let it lose its way into compassion. [Prayer] So I pray to increase my insanity— not the darkness that destroys, but the holy unrest that refuses to become cruel. Make me unreasonable in love. Make me difficult to corrupt. Make me brave enough not to confuse conformity with wisdom. [Closing] If this is madness, let it be a generous madness. If this is folly, let it heal the lonely. If this is freedom, let it begin with me. For my insanity comes from the power of love. And love, when it is true, does not imprison the mind. It sets the whole soul free. [Outro] Amen.
